The Netherlands, Schiedam: HSM Offshore Energy has been awarded a contract to construct and install an offshore HV substation and its jacked foundation in Denmark. The offshore wind farm Thor, off the Danish west coast, will be built by RWE, while HSM and its key subcontractors Iv-Offshore & Energy and GE Renewable Energy will be responsible for the engineering, construction, installation and offshore commissioning of approximately 3000 MT topside and 2500 MT jacket structures. Once completed, Thor will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date. It will be capable of generating sufficient quantities of green electricity to supply the equivalent of more than one million Danish households.
