Nigeria, Minna: A man was found electrocuted after supposedly trying to steal transformer cables.
An unidentified man was electrocuted while attempting to steal transformer cables in the early hours of Friday on the premises of the Niger State Printing Press in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.
His body was found by the staff of the printing press, and the incident was confirmed by Head of Legal Unit of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, Aminu Ubandoma. He also said the company had been receiving reports of transformers being vandalized and that it was collaborating with security agencies and the police to help solve the problem.
The incident was also confirmed by the spokesperson of the Niger Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who said the man was found with a cable cutter and some vandalized cables. This is not the first report of transformer vandalism in Nigeria, as a similar incident was reported in Anambra State last week.
